Position Summary
A junior electrician is responsible for assisting with the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems and equipment under the supervision of senior electricians or engineers. This entry-level position offers a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience and develop electrical skills in a professional environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems, wiring, and equipment in residential, commercial, and industrial buildings.
Perform regular inspections and preventive maintenance tasks on electrical systems, including panels, lighting, and power distribution units.
Help troubleshoot electrical issues and provide timely repairs under supervision.
Ensure all tasks comply with local safety regulations and company standards.
Support the senior electrician in testing and calibrating electrical equipment.
Document work progress and maintain reports for completed jobs.
Maintain a clean and organized workspace and ensure all tools are properly used and stored.
Coordinate with other team members, contractors, and supervisors on-site to ensure smooth project delivery.
Requirements:
Education: Diploma/Certificate in Electrical Engineering or related field.
Experience: 0 to 1 year of relevant experience in electrical maintenance (internship or apprenticeship experience will be considered).
Skills:
Basic knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, and tools.
Ability to read and understand electrical drawings and schematics.
Familiarity with electrical safety standards and practices.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Basic troubleshooting skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of maintenance software systems (if applicable).
Familiarity with Qatari electrical codes and local work regulations.
Valid Qatari driver’s license (optional but preferred).
Working Conditions:
Willingness to work in both indoor and outdoor environments, sometimes in hot weather conditions.
Flexibility to work in shifts and during emergencies, including weekends or holidays.
May involve working at heights and in confined spaces.
